Senior Housing Solutions Presents a Senior Citizen Speaks out on Health Care Part 1
Senior Housing Solutions (SHS) was the first non-profit organization in the nation to explore home sharing as an innovative housing strategy for seniors with low incomes. In the mid 1980s, we initiated this concept by renting rooms to seniors in a six-bedroom house in San Jose. We furnished the common areas of the house, installed phone and cable television access and offered rent at affordable rates to seniors. It was even featured on the popular television commentary 20/20!
