Health Care Assistant
As a Health Care Assistant you provide support to elderly individuals and help them maintain a level of independence while easing their pain and improving their quality of life. Graduates of our Health Care Assistant Certificate Program are prepared to work in Extended and Intermediate Care Facilities, Home Support Agencies, Adult Day Care Centers, and Assisted Living residences.

The Stenberg College Health Care Assistant Program meets and exceeds the provincial curriculum (2008) with well over one hundred additional program hours, allowing students more in-depth instruction in the areas of dementia care, palliative care and medication management. Additional clinical hours and simulation labs support students to perfect their skills.

The Health Care Assistant Program delivered by Stenberg College has been granted a full, five-year recognition status by the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry. Graduates are eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
